It's not necessarily a secret that Illustrator is one of the most powerful and popular editing programs for designers. What might be less well-known is that it has been purchased by Adobe Systems, who has since removed all the "CS6" branding from it. This is a problem because many people don't know or understand that Illustrator now comes as part of the full Photoshop CS6 suite, and they can't purchase either program on its own! It's important to understand this so you can make sure you're downloading and using the correct program — we'll help you figure out which version to keep installing and how to file your complaints with Adobe. In the meantime, Adobe has added a tab to its website called "Learn More" that explains why Illustrator is now included as part of Photoshop CS6. This way you can be sure you're using the right program from now on.Note: If you have Illustrator CS5 or earlier, then this article doesn't apply to you — Adobe no longer sells these versions of the software and they've been replaced by a single full version that is included with Photoshop CS6. You will see a blank document as shown in Figure 1. There is no pre-existing document with the name "Untitled", so you'll have to create one yourself using the steps below: 2. In the New Document dialog box, go to Units and change the value from Inches to Pixels. Then enter "8" in both Width and Height boxes as shown in Figure 2. Hit the OK button. Note: 1 inch = 96 pixels, so a blank artboard that is 8 inches wide by 8 inches high has a width and height of 768 pixels.3. Choose View > Fit Artboard In Window from the main menu bar to see the entire document as shown in Figure 3. 4.
